Head of Mass Communication Department, Benson Idahosa University, Benin City, Prof Godwin Oboh, Dr Emmanuel Biri, Associate Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism, Delta State University and Prince Mike Oputa, Veteran Journalist and former General Manager of The Pointer Newspaper, have concluded plans to attend the second edition of the EACGOVDELTA Strategic Communication Workshop in Asaba.
The trio together with the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan will assist the Chief Trainer, Prof Raph Akinfeleye, to tutor participants at the 3-day brain storming and creative writing skills capacity building workshop.
Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications and Workshop pointsman, Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq in a statement on Tuesday said this year workshop is tailored to take participants from the realm of conventional news reporting to critical creative writing skills development, adding that group assignments cum presentation shall be graded and keenly supervised by the Chief trainer and other facilitators.
“The calibre of trainers is a strong indication that participants will acquire multifaceted skills required to excel in the discharge of assigned responsibilities as media aides, spokespersons, bloggers and social media Influencers,” Oghenesivbe assured.
The workshop is scheduled to hold from 8-10th December, 2020 at Orchid Hotel, DBS Road, Asaba. It is sponsored by Delta State Government and organised by the Office of the Executive Assistant (Communications) to the Governor in conjunction with the Office of the Secretary to the State Government.
