Delta Assembly Workers To Resume Work On Tuesday

Following the suspension of the about three months strike action by the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria, PASAN, the Delta State Chapter of the Union has directed its members to resume work on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

A statement by the Delta State Chapter PASAN Chairman, Comrade Emmanuel Edozie request staff of the State House of Assembly to give their best in ensuring the legislators are assisted in making good laws for the stronger Delta Agenda of the state government.

He recalled that members of the union were directed to embark on an indefinite strike action on March 22, 2021 following the refusal of government to implemente financial autonomy for the legislature as enshrined in the 1999 constitution as amended.

Comrade Edozie said following the memoranda of understanding between the union and relevant stakeholders, the national leadership of PASAN decided to suspend the ongoing strike action.

He thanked members of the union for their cooperation and support during the period of the strike and appealed to them to continue in their support for the union, even as he assured all of the commitment of the State PASAN Executive to fight for the welfare of members.
