The Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) on Thursday June 17, 2021 screened and confirmed Hon. Ayemidejor Felix Gowon as Secretary To Sapele Local Government Area.
Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori had in previous plenary read a letter, informing his colleagues that the appointee was nominated by his Council Chairman and the request for screening was in accordance with the provisions of section (63) subsection (1) of the local government laws of 2013 as amended.
Hon. Ayemidejor who was screened alongside 14 other nominees on the floor of the hallow Chambers at a plenary session presided over by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oborevwori followed a motion moved by the deputy majority Leader Hon. Oboro Preyor and seconded by member representing Isoko North Hon. Jude Ogbimi.
Appearing before the house for screening Hon. Ayemidejor whose appearance not only scored him high but his boldness and prompt responses to questions directed to him fetched him an honour of taking a bow.
Speaking to journalists shortly after his confirmation, Hon. Ayemidejor who was a two term councilor and majority Leader Sapele Legislative Arm appreciated his Political leaders for considering him for the appointment just as he reassured them of his total loyalty and quality service delivery to the council.
According to former chairman of the Delta State forum of councilors Hon. Ayemidejor Felix Gowon, “I appreciate my house of Assembly representative Hon. Felix Anirah, Council Chairman Hon. Eugene Inuoaghan, Hon. Austin Ayemidejor, Hon. Ebireri Ohwo Sunday, Hon. Abeke Bright among others for granting me this opportunity which I promised to deliver on the mandate given.”
Meanwhile, the nominee for Ndokwa-West Local Government Area, Barr. Uduma Enweliku Cletus was not cleared as a result of his inability to convince the house that he attended primary and secondary Schools as well as his inconsistency in his presentation
In the same vein, nominee from Isoko North was stepped down till next week Tuesday
