By Sunday Apah

Chairmen of the eight Local Government Councils in Delta Central Senatorial District have lauded the drive of Delta Central 2023 lobby group in ensuring that the governorship seat rotates to the District come 2023.

The chairmen also urged Delta Central 2023 lobby group to extend hands of fellowship to politicians and stakeholders in other senatorial districts and appeal to them for peaceful transition of the governorship seat to Delta Central Senatorial District come 2023.

Coordinator of the Council Chairmen in Delta Central Senatorial District, Hon. Chief Godwin Adode, Chairman, Ughelli North Local Government Council who made this known on behalf of the chairmen during a visit of the DC-23 to them, said with the pace at which DC-23 is going about the lobby, the governor will definitely come to Delta Central Senatorial District come 2023.

According to him, for sometime now, most of them have not been themselves when they noticed that some of their brothers were running from pillar to post hustling to become deputy governor to some persons in other senatorial districts when they knew that it is the turn of Delta Central Senatorial District to be governor come 2023.

“But at the end, God says we should come together and fight for a common goal through DC-23. I know that with this common drive we will get the governor come 2023. To me it will better if the governor come to Delta Central Senatorial District come 2023, and we will give our support in that direction.

“So I urged DC-23 to extend hands of fellowship to our brothers in Delta South and North Senatorial Districts. Meet with the local government council chairmen and local government area party chairmen and appeal to them to see reasons why they should support us for the governor come 2023”, he added.

Ealier, the DC-23 also visited the eight Local Government Areas PDP Chairmen in Delta Central Senatorial District in same venue where they expressed appreciation to the group for their peaceful and organised conduct.

Earlier, National Chairman of Delta Central 2023, Chief Senator Ighoyota Amori in his speech, told the Local Government Council Chairmen and PDP Chairmen in Delta Central Senatorial District to support DC-23 in its drive for the governorship seat of Delta State to rotate in line of senatorial districts.

He said the DC-23 is a lobby group made up of card carrying members of the PDP in Delta Central Senatorial District with aim to lobby for the governorship seat to rotate to the Central come 2023.

According to him “we want a sustainable system to be established where when it gets to your turn no one from another senatorial district can contest with you.

He appealed to the two groups of chairmen to help talk to their colleagues in other senatorial districts on why the governor of the state should come from Delta Central Senatorial District in 2023.
