In every clime is a star, divinely positioned to uplift humanity from darkness to epiphany; lifting humanity from despondency to hope.
Asaba, the capital of Delta State, is blessed with great personalities. From Dennis Osadebey to the Asagba of Asaba, Professor Chike Edozien, through the Late (Mrs) Mariam Babangida, down to Sir Austin Mowah, a charismatic Director of Information and retired Permanent Secretary in the state civil service and up to yet another amazon, Mrs Theresa Adiabua Oliko (JP) FIHNR, first female Director of Information (DI) in the state Ministry of Information, Asaba continues to blaze its quintessence to the World.
Born some decades ago, Mrs Adiabua Oliko studied at the great University of Benin in the present Edo State of Nigeria, graduating with upper distinction in History. She later got a master’s degree in International Relations from the same institution. She is a holder of the prestigious post graduate diploma in Journalism from the International Institute of Journalism and a recipient of several awards, including Fellow of the Institute of Human and Natural Resources of Nigeria.
As she celebrates her birthday today, Sunday, July 4, 2021, we in the Ministry of Information and people of goodwill wish to identify with her in her strong determination to contribute selflessly towards the actualisation of the Stronger Delta vision of the Okowa Administration.
Her birthday today is not only heralding positive transformation of the Ministry of Information with the second coming of Honourable Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu as the Commissioner for Information in the state, it has indicated the determination of the state governor to give women greater opportunities to participate in taking the state to greater heights.
Madam, happy birthday ! We pray that God continues to give you the wisdom to discharge your duties efficiently, excellent health, financial uplifting and the enabling environment for you to actualise your burning passion to serve Delta State and beyond !
