By Enweliku Kent

The Executive and members of 3rd Force Organization, on Thursday, threw their weights behind the immediate past Commissioner for Works in Delta State,
Chief James Augoye, in his quest to govern the state, come 2023.
3rd Force Organization is apolitical pressure group set up to ensure that credible aspirants are voted into power come 2023.
Speaking when the group led by its National Coordinator, Chief David Omoru, visited the guber aspirant in his residence at Ugbokoda, Okpe Local Government Area of the state, the group promised to deliver him, adding that the visit was to show solidarity and support his ambition.
According to him, Chief Augoye is intelligent, humble, focused, disciplined, accessible and quiet, saying these qualities and many more influenced their decision to throw their weights behind him.
Continuing, he recalled how he worked with former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan and the seating Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and contributed his own quota in securing their victories.
“Every aspirant I have always supported eventually emerged and I can say God willing that you are the Governor-in waiting,” he added.
“Almost all the guber aspirants in the state for 2023 are my friends, but I am convinced that Chief Augoye will emerge and we have decided to support him in this race,” he said.
The group also presented a plaque to the governorship aspirant as BOT member of the organization.
In his response, an elated Augoye, said the visit has not only encouraged him, but given him a higher motivation to go forward, stating that the visit is a sign that God is in the project.
To members of the group, he said: “Don’t be deterred, frightened and discouraged,” noting that 3rd Force already said the visit was in solidarity with him, saying that this means that they have taken a stand already.
Speaking further, he said he is confident of victory because he knows what Deltans need and he is determined to deliver and leave a legacy behind because what he is coming with is a will and not a manifesto so that many years after he has left office, his works will still be celebrated.
Adding: “By virtue of my position as Commissioner of Works, I have gone round Delta State and seen what to do to put smile on the faces of residents in the state.
“As commissioner, when I went to inspect projects, I don t just do that and go home, but rather went to persons in the community to interact with them. I don’t think any aspirant now has the information I have about the needs and yearnings of Deltans.”
He averred that he was confident of success because God showed it to him that he will lead Delta State and that since then, he has been receiving intuition on how to tackle issues of the state.
Speaking further, he said one of the ways he intends to tackle the challenges in the state would be to hold annual town hall meetings.
Those that accompanied Chief Omoru during the visit include the National Secretary, Mr. Kennedy Ubanatu; National Assistant Secretary, Mr. Esso Boniwe; Treasurer, Mrs Rose Ofuani; Media Director, Comrade Valerie Opia, Publicity Secretary, Hon Henry Aluya; Assistant Publicity Secretary, Hon.
