Following the rising spate of insecurity in the country, the Okpe Youth Progressive Association, popularly known as Okpe Youth Council Worldwide, has concluded plans to organise a one-day security summit on “The Security Architecture Of Okpe Kingdom” in Delta State.
In a statement its National President, Comrade Israel Otomewo, said that the summit was to create a platform by bringing stakeholders together to evaluate and proffer ways of improving the security situation in the locality.
He said it also aimed at sensitising the people on methods of obtaining and protecting lives and properties in their immediate environment.
Comrade Otomewo who said that the summit was in partnership with the Sapele Centre For Development would feature the very best of top notch security experts in the Kingdom, including His Royal Majesty Maj. Gen Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd) Cfr, Mni Orhue 1, Orodje of Okpe, as the Royal Father Of The Day.
Expected special invitees included the Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Elder (Chief) Sheriff Oborevwori (JP) and a former Minister of Information, Okakuro Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, as the Chairman of the event, among others.
The President of Okpe Youth Council Worldwide, Comrade Otomewo, who gave the theme of the summit : ” SECURITY AS SINE QUA NON FOR DEVELOPMENT – OKPE KINGDOM IN PERSPECTIVE”, said that the event was billed to hold on Monday, July 19, 2021 at the Udogun Hall, Orerokpe, Delta State at 10.00am prompt.
He enjoined all Okpe sons and daughters to attend the maiden edition of the youth security meeting, poised at ensuring the security of lives and property and the development of the Okpe Kingdom.
