Former Delta State House of Assembly member, Hon. Efe Ofobruku, has expressed his interest to contest the Delta State 2023 governorship election with promise to improve on the development strides of the present governor if elected.
Ofobruku who made this known while declaring his intention to contest the 2023 governorship election before leaders and members of Delta Central 2023 lobby group at the residence of Chief Ighoyota Amori in Asaba, said he is educationally and sagaciously qualified to contest the governorship seat of the state.
He appealed to leaders and members of DC-23 for support to enable him achieve the laudable dream of becoming the next governor of Delta State.
He noted that the issue of 2023 governorship is not the question of “I have contested before and I lost, so I should be considered, but for those who will stand for the Urhobo people”.
According to him, “I will be the bridge that connect the political class of 1999 and the next generation if elected. I am a complete indigene of Delta Central Senatorial District who is married to a Delta northerner.
“I want Urhobo people to send me because educationally and in terms of political network and sagacity, I am well grounded.
“So, its high time, the advance politicians leave for the younger ones like me that is still very much versatile and young for the governorship race.
‘I submit myself for the race because I have worked for the party, Andrew I was part of those that worked for Former Governors, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Dr. Emmanuel Ewetan Uduaghan and the present governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa”, he added.
