The Councillor Representing Ward 18 in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State Hon. Samuel Azu has congratulated the State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources Hon. Chief Julius Egbedi on his chieftaincy title conferment by the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom.
Hon. Chief Egbedi was among the illustrious sons and daughters of Okpe honoured by His Royal Majesty Maj. Gen Felix Mujakperuo (Rtd) CfR, Mni Orhue 1, Orodje of Okpe at his palace today in Orerokpe, ancestral home of the Okpe people and headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
The revered Okpe monarch confers Hon. Chief Julius Egbedi as the “Ogwere” 1 Okpe Kingdom.
In a congratulatory message issued by Hon. Azu described the traditional chieftaincy title bestowed on Hon. Chief Egbedi as well deserved.
While showering praises on Hon. Chief Egbedi on the traditional attainment, the Councillor who hails from Amuokpokpor-Elume, thanked Orhue 1, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom for finding Hon. Chief Egbedi fit for the chieftaincy title.
According to him, “I am proud to see you attain this great height as one of the very young Chiefs in the kingdom. Congratulations and best wishes to you. And I pray the good Lord grant you His protection and wisdom needed to operate in this new capacity that will bring good tidings to Okpe Kingdom and the entire Urhobo nation at large”, it added.
”I would like to sincerely thank the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom for the right choice of Hon. Chief Julius Egbedi as “Ogwere” of Okpe kingdom, and the Orodje consistent display of diligence, devotion and commitment in leading the Okpe kingdom in the right direction.” statement concluded.
Hon. Samuel Azu who also felicitated with the Orhue 1 on his 15th years coronation anniversary, said his reign has brought more growth and development to Okpe Kingdom.
He however prayed God for longer reign, and longevity to His Royal Majesty in the years ahead.
