A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State Dr Sylvester Onoyona (PhD) has appealed to eligible voters in the state to take advantage of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) Exercise recently flagged off by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) across the country to turn out en masse and participate.
Dr. Onoyona who made the call in Oleh, headquarters of lsoko South Local Government Area of the state during the second edition of Music Talent Hunt, Delta Youths of Today said the INEC registration and validation exercise would give the youths a better chance of discharging their civic responsibilities during the forth coming general elections.
He encouraged those that just turned 18 years and above that have not registered should avail themselves of the current window created by INEC to do so adding that INEC had made the process less cumbersome with the introduction of online registration.
“We need to disabuse the minds of our people and the process starts from now to ensure that we now have a credible electoral process, hence the innovations introduced by the electoral umpire which made the exercise easier with the introduction of online portal for registration, so eligible voters should make use of this rare opportunity to be adequately captured in the ongoing continuous voter registration,” he said.
He added that the exercise is very imperative because it will enable all those who have come of age to register, those who have lost their cards to get new ones and for people to also change their voting points.
Dr. Onoyona further called on all stakeholders to proceed on aggressive community campaigns why it’s very apt for everyone to register or validate their electoral mandate.
It would be recalled that Dr Sylvester Onoyona (PhD) has remained a bridge builder for the opposition party in the state.
