Very Rev. Fr. John Konyeke, has inaugurated a special committee for the public presentation of the book, THE EXPERIENCE, authored by renowned journalist and Special Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Media, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo.
The book has been endorsed by governor Okowa, who personally wrote the Forward in Egugbo’s book “The Experience.
The Committee has the Executive Assistant to Governor of Delta State on Communications, Chief Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, as Chairman; the Chairman, Peter Oyemike Foundation (POF), Chief Christopher Oyemike as Alternate Chairman; the General Manager, Delta Broadcasting Service, Asaba, Mr FrankWhite Osabohen, a renowned banker, Mr Uzo Okoro, and Hon. Weyinmi Ufuoma Onovughakpo as members while Miss Grace Jesse of Maris Trust Council will serve as Secretary.
The book portrays Okowa, as a committed Christian and great lover of the Christian Faith, a man who consistently encouraged people to seek the face of God, in and out of season, and as someone who has encouraged the growth of Christianity in his capacity as governor of Delta State.
Inaugurating the Committee at Government House, Asaba on Thursday, Rev. Fr. Konyeke said, the main objectives of the committee are; to present the book, The Experience, to the public, particularly given that it is a religious book, which is a practical guide to pilgrims in the holy land.
The Catholic Priest urged members of the Committee not to lose sight of the important role the Christian community all over the world will play during the presentation of the book.
Rev Fr Konyeke, who commended Egugbo’s efforts and enthusiasm in churning out educative and inspiring intellectual works that will stand the test of time, prayed for the Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, and members of the state executive council, noting that the state has witnessed unprecedented development under this administration.
Responding on behalf of members of the Committee, Dr. Fred Oghenesivbe said, “I am ready and willing to work with my colleagues to make sure that this book presentation is successful.
“This is a divine assignment and by the grace of God, we will deliver, because when God leads, there is bound to be success and progress.
“To all the friends of Egugbo, Christian pilgrims and those who believe in Governor Okowa’s administration, let us make sure that this book presentation is successful,” he said.
A friend of the author and the Asaba Bureau Chief of THISDAY Newspapers, Omon-Julius Onabu, noted that beyond the primary religious and spiritual focus of the book, The Experience, also has an exciting appeal to international relations and tourism.
Egugbo, who witnessed the event, thanked members of the Committee for agreeing to serve humanity and partnership with God through membership of the Committee.
