The Delta Central 2023 loby group, (DC-23), has paid condolence visit to the family of the Late former Delta State House of Assembly member, Olorogun Dennis Omovie, describing him as an easy going gentleman of high repute.
National Chairman of DC-23, Chief (Senator) Ighoyota Amori, who spoke during the visit said that the death of Chief Omovie had created a big vacuum in the DC-23 group.
Amori told the family that the Late Omovie was part of those that met and formed the DC-23 and was a very active member until he passed on.
He noted that Omovie was a man of many parts because he was a leader in Warri South, Uvwie and Udu Local Government Area of the state.
“Apart from DC-23, I and Omovie have come a long way, his name is very special in the state, and was the longest serving House of Assembly member.”
“He is well known, easy going, amiable and his wisdom in formation of DC-23 was remarkable. He never allowed Urhobo in Warri South Local Government Area to be regarded as half in the affairs of Urhobo. He always insisted that things must be equitably and fairly done.”
“In him, we have lost a dear friend and a big vacuum has been created and it will be difficult to fill. You have lost your husband, father and brother, but we have also lost a very dear friend, beloved colleague in whom we are well pleased.”
On his part, Emmanuel Omovie, Esq, who responded on behalf of the family, thanked members of the DC-23 for the visit, adding that the visit had encouraged them to focus on moving forward in life.
He disclosed that the family had met and fixed October 22, 2021 for the burial rites and they urged DC-23 to join them in giving their beloved brother a befitting burial.
He said that Hon. Omovie was a pillar to the family while alive, adding that “now that he has bowed out, we pray God to grant him eternal rest.”
