Empowerment: Sapele Okpe Community, NPDC/SEPLAT Dole Out Starter Packs To  Community Members

The Sapele Okpe Community in conjunction with NPDC/SEPLAT has trained members of the community and empowered them with starter’s pack on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021.

The skill acquisition programme which started months ago in various field of catering, welding and fabrication, aluminum work, wood work, fashion and design, piggery came to an end today Thursday September 23rd, 2021 with beneficiaries given a starter kit in the various skill they have acquired

The Chairman of Sapele Okpe Community Dr Patrick Akamovba said that the program was organise with the objective of assisting the youths to be independent and employers of labour.

It is a rare privilege to be among beneficiaries, the program is to assist people to get out of poverty and start a business with the stater’s pack and cash that they have received, he said.

The program since it’s inception has been able to touch lives positively through the support of SEPLAT, Dr Patrick Akamovba added.

The Sapele Okpe Community chairman further requested beneficiaries to make judicious use of the items to empower themselves and others in society and desist from the idea of selling, as anyone found wanting would be severely dealt with.

Chief Ayomanor, the Duke of the community on his part said that, the program will continue to exist to benefit more individuals

Count yourself blessed to be part of the program. The company has given you a starter kit and I urge you all to use it well to benefit society by empowering others as well.

Engr. Folorunso Afolabi MD SEPLAT West in his words; on behalf of the board of NPDC, I congratulate all graduands and I enjoin them to be good people by making use of the starter kit. The program has taught you how to make money, please do not waste this talent he added

Miss Yemisi Natufe one of the beneficiaries thanked the organizers of the program and promised to make good use of the opportunity.
