Delta 2023: Let’s Work, Unify APC Says Dafinone

The board member of the Nigeria Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank, and former senatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta Central, Chief Ede Dafinone has called for unity in the party, insisting that if the party is serious about winning 2023 election in Delta state, they must start mending their differences now.

“We should start preparing for elections now, though it’s over a year away, but we should not wait till then, let’s get to work now, some damage has been done, it always happens with these congresses but we have a year to repair it so we should get to work and start repairing any damage to it so that we face the election as a unified party” he said

The chartered accounting guru cum politician who was speaking to journalists after he hosted the APC Sapele LGA members at the Dafinone’s country home on Saturday September 25th, 2021 said, as a leader in the LGA, he was hosting them to congratulate them for a successful local government and ward congresses.

He, however, said, it was too early to decide if he would contest for any position, “Contesting for any position, that is too early to say now, what I know is that my party will be contesting for all positions come 2023 and I intend to see that my local government is delivered for my party” he told journalists.

On faction in the party, Dafinone said he is not a factional politician, “if you go back in time you will not see me identifying with any of those faction, going back to the last election and the one before, I think that the faction destroyed the party and they are the clear reason why we lost so many local government area in the last election, and the one before, so my task as a leader is to unify all the groups, all well meaning APC politicians in my area to make sure that they work together to win in 2023” adding that the party is currently registering voters to make sure all supporters get their voter’s card before 2023.

Dafinone posited that he is currently working for the party’s unification “we need to work together, the dividends of Democracy only comes if we work together, so they should not adopt the winner takes it all attitude, they need to go back home, get their brothers in their unit to work with them to deliver the party” he said.
