Platinum governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, has urged Christians who are yet to fully commit themselves to serving God, to do so by identifying their divine assignments and calling in the five fold ministry enshrined in Ephesians 4:11.
He made the appeal on Wednesday 6th October in Asaba, at the public presentation of a book which focuses on pilgrimage to the holy lands of Israel and Rome, titled “THE EXPERIENCE,” written by a veteran Journalist and Special Assistant on Media to the governor, Comrade Fidelis Egugbo.
Okowa who was ably represented by the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Chief Fidelis Tilije, said the divine concept of the five-fold ministry is explained in Ephesians 4:11, wherein our Lord Jesus Christ gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, some to be pastors and teachers,” adding that any born again Christian must of necessary identify his or her assignment within the five-fold ministry and be committed to that office.
The governor said the author of “THE EXPERIENCE,” Comrade Egugbo, did well by sharing his experiences in the holy land, and encouraged other pilgrims to do likewise by engaging themselves in specific tasks and spiritual projects to reflect the spiritual lgains of holy pilgrimage.
Okowa posited that Delta State under his watch as governor is deeply rooted in the supremacy and divine authority of God, and ascribed the numerous achievements and several national Awards and victories in sports competitions, inflow of investments, the inestimable measure of peace and progress in the state to the Grace of God upon Delta and the people.
To that extent, governor Okowa assured that government will continue to invest in the socioeconomic and spiritual wellbeing of Deltans, to keep the state on top in the scheme of things and to consistently enjoy the daily benefits that God releases to his people.
“This administration will not relent in partnering with the Church of God, irrespective of the denomination and mode of worship.
“It is my prayer that every Christian in Delta State, and by extension Nigeria, should identify their individual divine assignment in the five fold ministry as specified by our Lord Jesus Christ in Ephesians 4:11.
“I believe that if we are committed to the service of God, either part time or full time, and we serve Him in truth and in spirit, our world will be a better place to live in.
“Government is investing on Pilgrimage so that Deltans are able to connect practically with holy sites mentioned in the scriptures and to use the period for spiritual revival through intensive prayers and supplications; pray for peace, security and progress of Delta, our leaders and families.
“This administration will sustain the Christians pilgrim and welfare project, subject to available financial resources, and our partnership with the Church of God on interdenominational basis, because the body of Christ is one, and God rules in the affairs of Delta State.
“I commend the author of “THE EXPERIENCE,” and my Special Assistant on Media, Fidelis Egugbo, for sharing his experiences. I read the script and also wrote the forward. And I wish to recommend the book for would be Pilgrims, scholars, researcher and the general public.
“I urge other Pilgrims to emulate the efforts of the author and do something beneficial to themselves and society, so as to morally and spiritually justify their status in Christ.
“I am particularly grateful to God, that the 2020 batch of pilgrims to the Holy Land of Jordan returned safely. The devil showed up but God Almighty, took control and we give all the glory to Him and Him alone, Okowa added.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman of the book presentation Organising Committee and Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on Communications, Chief Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, JP, said the platinum governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, had impacted so many lives by directly or indirectly converting and still converting political appointees, friends and associates through his excellent leadership by example, anchored on service to God, service to the people and peace building.
