Delta Frowns At Its Inclusion As Security Melt Point In Nigeria

By JOHNSON EBIGIDE

Delta State Government has frowned at the statement credited to the British Government, warning her citizens from visiting some high security risk states, including the state, ahead the commemoration of the Endsars protest in Nigeria.

The Commissioner for Information in the state, Mr. Charles Aniagwu, stated this while briefing the Press over the issue at the Ministry of Information in Asaba, the state capital.

He said that Delta State was peaceful and accommodating to all nationalities who wished to reside or do business in the state, adding that whatever informed the unfortunate report was done in ignorance of the hospitable ambience of the state and its people.

Aniagwu enjoined the public and the global community to disregard the embarrassing statement, saying that the love for the state could have resulted in adding the state to those flashpoints in the country in error.

He called on investors to come over and invest in the state, adding that Delta State remained one of the most investment friendly states in the country, just as he emphasised that no amount of blackmailing would stop the Okowa Administration from finishing strong in the state.

Present during the briefing were the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Paul Osahor; the Chief Press Secretary to the state governor, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika; Senior Special Assistant to the state governor on Media, Mr. Nelson Egwuare and directors in the ministry, among others.
