The Member Representing Isoko North Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Jude Ogbimi has stressed the need for more policies and programs that would enhance the living standards of women and youths in the society.
Hon Ogbimi who stated this when he played host to the executive and members of Ewheyea Isoko Association of Nigeria, Warri Branch, said women and youth development would be given priority attention in his representation at the state legislature.
Addressing the women who gathered at his country home in Otor-igho Owhe, lsoko North local Government Area, the Lawmaker described the visit at commendable as it afforded another opportunity to seek their partnership towards improved efficiency and quality of lives in the Constituency.
Hon Ogbimi who is the Chairman, House Committee on Housing and Women Development promised to always encourage and support programs geared towards uplifting the women in the society, particularly those from Isoko North.
He expressed happiness for the privilege to host the Warri branch of the Ewheyea Isoko Association of Nigeria, where over thirty elderly women were gifted with cash, clothing materials and food items, including rice and cooking oil.
Hon Ogbimi assured the body of his support to its laudable programs, particularly in the areas of promoting small scale businesses, formal education and skill acquisitions.
The Lawmaker encouraged the women to avail themselves the opportunity of the ongoing INEC voters registration exercise to register and obtain their PVCs to enable them exercise their franchise in the upcoming elections.
Hon Ogbimi who commended the sterling leadership of governor Ifeanyi Okowa in the state, called for sustained commitment to the growth and progress of PDP in Isoko North and the state at large.
The Ewheya Women Association appreciated the Isoko North Representative in the State Assembly for the hospitality, saying that it was gratifying to having the Lawmaker as a part of the group.
The women pledged their support and unalloyed loyalty to Hon Ogbimi, even as they appealed for his continued understanding and cooperation.
In their reactions the elderly women who benefited from the gift items thanked and prayed for Ewheya Women Association and Hon Jude Ogbimi for the gesture and for adding values to their lives.
The high point of the event was the decoration of Hon Ogbimi as the patron of the women group alongside Engr Peter Odunwa, a chieftain of PDP in the area.
A top party leaders in Isoko nation, Dr Nelson Ajakpovi, Vice Chairman PDP ward 13, Peter Oyibu, Secretary PDP Ward 13, Lucky Igbe, the Woman Leader of Ward as well as Barr Vote Umukoro and Lucky Okeremu, both aides to Hon Jude Ogbimi were part of those that witnessed the epoch making event.
