The Councillor Representing the good people of ward 18, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State Hon. Samuel Aroture Azu has celebrated the return of the immediate past Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. (Chief) Monday Owigho Igbuya and his Political family from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the People’s Democratic party (PDP) in the state.
Rt. Hon. Igbuya who represented Sapele state constituency in the state house of assembly for two terms before the 2019 general elections decamped to the APC.
Speaking to Journalists at the Sapele city Stadium, venue of the mega rally organised by leadership of the party in Delta Central to welcome returnees and decampees from APC, Hon. Azu described the erstwhile Speaker’s return to the party as welcome development, geared towards to strengthen the party in Delta Central and state.
“Igbuya as a two terms Sapele Council Chairman remain a grassroot politician whose political leadership helped the party from birth in the council till it became a political family for all. His decision to leave the party before 2019 were best known to him but we were sad and today we are grateful that he is back to the party, Azu said.
The Councillor described Igbuya as a political father and friend to many in Sapele and beyond who contributed immensely to nearly everyone’s political growth in Delta State and beyond.
“There is no doubt, his return to PDP has further crashed and buried the opposition party in Delta Central and the state because the only Political party in Delta remain the PDP. The party remain very organised in the country and strong enough to win the forth coming Delta 2023 elections, Azu stated.
Hon. Samuel Azu used the occasion to eulogized all political leaders in Sapele for wooing Igbuya and his Political family back to the party.
He commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for his developmental stride across the state which he said has been a sign post directing all the opposition parties to the good works done by the governor.
“Good works spot you out. And our governor’s good works will continue to attract the opposition party members to join the PDP in the state.
