This is what the Field Marshal of Delta Politics, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, told his party men and women at the Delta Central PDP Mega Rally in Sapele, on Saturday 23rd October, 2021;
“In 2015, we won four local governments in Delta Central, in 2019 we won six local governments and in 2023 we shall win all eight local governments in Delta Central. We will achieve it because we have agreed on it.”
It was a positive statement and a marching order at the same time, from the State Party leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the dreaded Owa Alero born political electioneering strategist, the Ekwueme Gburugburu!
Okowa and the State Party Chairman, Chief Kingsley Esiso Esq, were visibly in high spirit, acknowledging cheers from the inspired mammoth crowd of party faithfuls and supporters at the thunderous and wondrous Delta Central PDP Mega Rally, held at the Sapele Township Stadium, in Delta Central Senatorial District.
Gov Okowa, known to be a good Ambassador of peace and indivisible Nigeria, is also soft spoken, gentle in appearance, but a roaring lion on the inside when it comes to implementation of electioneering strategies. And as a deep thinker, his main objectives on all strategies are targeted at winning, winning and winning elections.
A review of Okowa’s political antecedents clearly revealed that he carries a dual personality of a political dynamite and a roaring lion during elections. You may not sense it through the looks on his face, nor decode his awesome political might and sagacity in his tiny, penetrative and commanding voice; but the force is always there, real and result oriented. Those gifted with the spirit of discernment may figure it out within a reasonable time.
Okowa’s political furnace of fire can only be felt via outcome of election results in the state, as can be seen from election victories either general or bye elections from 2015 till date, and still counting. He is a grassroots politician with amazing wealth of experience. He will do it again as the captain and Pilot-in-Command of PDP Delta campaign crew, come 2023.
Take it or leave it, Okowa political forces will cripple APC Delta in 2023, and DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, the political monarch and emperor of Delta APC will not be able to comprehend the electioneering misfortune that will befall him in 2023. This is not a threat, but a promise that will be fulfilled politically by PDP and Okowa political volcanic eruption against Delta APC.
You needed to be in Sapale last Saturday 23nd October, to feel the steam of PDP political sagacity. The crowd was heavy, the political songs and drum beats obviously sent a strong signal to Delta APC, to be weary of DSP Agege’s empty boasts that will never translate to election victory in 2023.
Former Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Monday Igbuya, known to be a core loyalist of our amiable former governor, Chief James Ibori, who defected to APC after he was impeached in 2017, returned to his first love, PDP, accompanied by his teeming supporters from Sapele and environ. His seat in the state hallowed chamber was taken over by Chief Anirah in 2019. The massive defection on Saturday, was a pitiable minus for Delta APC.
Another APC grassroots mobilizer and former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Chief Solomon Edoja, known to be a gallant son of Kokori in Agbon kingdom, together with a sagacious youth influencer, Chief David Ukueku, also defected to PDP, bringing with them thousands of supporters and other defectors from Ethiope East LGA, Ughelli North and South, etcetera. It is obvious that PDP will win Ethiope East LGA, in the governorship election, come 2023.
Going by the latest body language and swag of the state party leader and governor, Delta Central, if she puts her house in order and stay united, shall produce the PDP governorship candidate at the party’s primaries in 2022, a heartwarming political development that will sweep all the votes in Delta Central Senatorial District and across the state for PDP.
It is crystal clear that the outcome of the 2021 Delta Central PDP Mega Rally is now being felt negatively by the major opposition party, the APC. The party is bleeding seriously, as more and more footsoldiers of DSP Ovie Omo-Agege, abandoned him to take solace and refuge in the big, secured, stable and Prosperous Umbrella of PDP in Delta State.
When I said in one of my articles recently that 2023 shall be the worst electioneering year for Delta APC, some busy body commentators said negative things, to the extent of saying that Okowa will soon join the APC. What a tall and unrealistic dream! Okowa is a stable politician, a visionary leader that will not jump around like some power seeking politicians do.
Those fake political astrologers got the shock of their lives last Saturday, as they heard the final word from governor Okowa, and that is that, APC Delta will not win any local government in the forthcoming 2023 governorship election, which clearly corroborated my earlier prediction that 2023 shall be a major electioneering disaster for Delta APC and DSP Agege.
Okowa, the Ekwueme Gburugburu, knows the game of politics inside out, very intelligent and knowledgeable in deploying key unfailing winning strategies during elections. It follows that come 2023, PDP shall win all LGAs in Delta State.
Finally, I leave you with these lines from PDP Delta leader and governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, to Igbuya and all APC decampees;
“I welcome all the new decampees from the All Progressive Congress (APC) led by a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya, which includes a former member of House of Representatives, Chief Solomon Edoja; Hon. Julius Akpovoka, Chief Francis Aguonigho, Chief Spin Ogboru, Chief Anthony Enakpoya, and Chief David Ukueku.
“It is my hope that working together, we will deliver all the wards and local governments in our state to PDP in the next general election.” Done and dusted!
