Edward Ederaine Rescues Abandoned 17 Years Old Mother Of Twins After Birth In Sapele Hospital.

Following the report on Vanguard Newspaper of November 3rd, 2021 on the story making the rounds on social media platforms about 17years old Weyimi Samson who gave birth to twin baby boys and was abandoned by both her family and the boy’s family who is responsible for her pregnancy, Mr Edward Ederaine has donated baby things to the twin babies.

Mr Edward Ederaine who was ably represented by the coordinator of Queen Stephanie Ladies in Politics/Protocol Ladies and an Advocate for Girl Child Education, Queen Stephanie Ikanone Odiete said that it is so disheartening to see teenage girls with unplanned pregnancies.

She expressed her displeasure about the young man who abandoned the young girl and his two sons, she enjoined him to come out of hiding and take responsibility for the young girl and their two sons, adding that young men should endeavor to be responsible if they cannot zip up. “If you know you can’t father a child by way of catering for the child’s welfare and psychological needs, then, you must not engage in activities that will see you become a forced father. If you want to become a father you must be man enough to stand up to your responsibilities”.

Queen Stephanie Ikanone Odiete while presenting the baby things and cash to Miss Weyemi Samson said that the kind gesture by Mr Edward Ederaine was borne out of sympathy and humanity for the twins. She also advised Miss Weyemi to concentrate on taking care of herself and her two children.

She however called on well meaning Nigerans to assist the 17 years old girl who is still indebted to the hospital where she gave birth. According to Queen Stephanie, “I was particularly touched when I met her feeding the twin boys who are barely six days old with pap (akamu) as she said her breast milk could not sustain the voracious appetite of the twin”.

Queen Stephanie Ikanone Odiete speaking further said, “she has made a mistake and I believe that she has learnt from her mistake, we cannot throw away the baby together with the bath water, let us assist her in whatever way we can”, she added.
