Coalition for Media Politics, CMP, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has commended Delta Central Young Leaders, DCYL 2023, for commencing political consultations to other Young Leaders in the state, to seek cooperation and support for power shift to Delta Central Senatorial District in 2023.
CMP in a statement by its Chairman, Olorogun Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, JP, on Friday 5th November, said DCYL’s political sensitization was timely and credible in the light of multifaceted synergies required to produce a suitable and generally accepted PDP governorship candidate from Central in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
It will be recalled that DCYL 2023 led by Hon Isaac Omomedia, Chairman and Olorogun Vincent Oyibode, JP, Director General, on Thursday 4th November, paid political consultation visit to Delta North Young Leaders. The DNYL team had Hon Innocent Esewezie, Chairman of Oshimili North Local Government, and Hon Nnamdi Ezechi, Executive Assistant to Gov Okowa on Youth Development, as spokespersons for Young Leaders in Delta North Senatorial District, during a well attended political interactive meeting.
The Coalition further noted that the composition of DCYL 2023 delegation to Delta North Young Leaders, DNYL, was a pointer to the fact that Urhobo Young Leaders had embraced a new political order under the tutelage and visionary leadership of the incumbent governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, who in his political wisdom gave the youth and young leaders in the state unrestricted platforms to interact and cross fertilize result oriented political ideas.
“CMP is delighted over the moves by Delta Central Young Leaders to interface and seek political synergy with Young Leaders in Delta North and Delta South Senatorial Districts.
“We urge DCYL 2023 members not to relent in their efforts, take their political consultations to Delta South Young Leaders, and in the near future, hold an elaborate joint meeting of the three senatorial districts, to deliberate on the most qualified and suitable aspirant before party primaries in 2022.
“CMP is determined to assist DCYL in the area of strategic political communication and media publicity, for the fact that governor Okowa, as the state party leader is also the Chief Pilot on board the 2023 governorship flight, to be assisted by other leaders of the party as co-pilots.
“CMP, DCYL and other groups awaits the unveiling of Okowa’s choice of governorship aspirant, so as to collectively drive the process to ensure he emerge as PDP governorship candidate at the party primaries in 2022,” the statement added.
