Two Govs. NGO’s Country Director, Bags National Peace Awards

ABUJA- The Delta State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has bagged a national award as the best Governor for Peace and Conflict Resolution, while his Borno State counterpart, Prof. Zulum Babagana Umaru got his award as All Round Best Governor in Nigeria.

At the same award event which took place at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, the FCT, the Country Director and CEO of a foremost NGO in Nigeria, the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice, CEPEJ, Comrade Mulade Sheriff, received the Best National Peace NGO/Humanitarian Service of the Year Award.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha was the keynote speaker at the event and charged all Nigerians to support and promote peace across the nation to usher in the desired development. The SGF asserted that peace is everyone’s responsibility, adding that the Buhari-led Administration was doing its bast to secure and protect the lives and property of all Nigerians.

The Convener of the award ceremony, Dr Suleiman Adejo of the Messengers of Peace, thanked the Federal Government for providing the enabling environment for peaceful coexistence among Nigerians in spite of the prevailing security challenges.
