The leader of the Ndokwa West Legislative Arm, Hon. Ndubuisi Okolafor, has admonished Councillors in the LGA, to remain steadfast and dedicated in the discharge of their responsibilities.
Okolafor who gave the advised on Thursday during the house sitting noted that the task of repositioning the local government was a collective one and urged the Councillors to notify the house on any issues affecting their constituents during ‘matters of urgent public importance.’
He equally charged the lawmakers to make efforts to attend cultural and social functions in their constituents as it was one of the ways their impacts can be felt by their people.
“Honourable colleagues let me welcome and thank you for coming to sitting. I am impressed by your turn out, it shows you are all alive to your constitutional responsibilities. Let me also appeal to you not to despair no matter the challenges.
“I appeal to you to be in constant touch with your constituents, everything is not about money. Ensure that every issue that affects your people within our jurisdiction are brought to the floor for urgent attention.” He added.
The leader of the house however urged the chairmen and members of various house committees to brace up in their oversight responsibilities even as he tasked them to tidy up their reports especially as the year come to an end.
