Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on Communications, Chief Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has said that the people of the State will not be so ungodly and forgetful to vote for a lawyer that was debarred in the United States of American and a Mace Runner, in the forthcoming governorship election.
He gave the assurance while speaking during Live Radio phone-in programme on Sunday 21st November, monitored in Asaba, wherein he was asked to react to DSP Agege’s recent attacks on his boss, Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa.
The Eacgov posited that Delta State Politics is not like the Buhari administration cum All Progressives Congress, APC, where some people with criminal records, suspected treasury looters and debased characters are given juicy appointments and compensated with highly exalted positions in government, saying that there is still no vacancy for APC at Government House, Asaba, that include 2023.
Oghenesivbe, who is also a Justice of the Peace in Delta State, further asserted that it is on record in the United States of America, that the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, was debarred in that country, for perjury and forgery, and was also seen on television in Nigeria, playing a strategic role in the removal of Mace from the Red Chamber during plenary, and was interrogated by the high command of the Nigeria Police.
He noted that the successful execution of the Mace Running deal directly or indirectly gave birth to Senator Agege’s present DSP status, adding that instead of being punished for his heinous crimes of conspiracy and common intentions, the Buhari administration and APC national government decided to compensate him for frustrating and averting the alleged peaceful plans to impeach Mr President, which could have saved Nigeria from the present multifaceted infrastructure and socioeconomic backwardness.
Okowa’s EAC said Nigeria under President Buhari and APC national government ruined the educational and health sectors as can be seen from nonpayment of entitlements of Universities lecturers and Medical Doctors, adding that the country is presently deeply rooted in corruption in high places, cramped by acute poverty, engulfed by unprecedented joblessness, high level insecurity, multiple taxations, high inflation, irresponsible regular increase in the pump price of petrol and electricity tariff without corresponding service delivery; mismanagement of high profile loans that has bedevilled Nigeria, from 2015 till date as well as clueless white elephant projects serving as conduit pipes.
“DSP Agege ought to be behind bars if Nigeria were to be United States of America or other developed nations, over his glaring roles in the red chamber mace running. It is sad that a man who was debarred in America for perjury and forgery is now a serving Senator and DSP under the self acclaimed Fight Against Corruption government of APC. Too bad.
“Agege had the effrontery to cast negative aspersions at the governor of Delta State, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, accusing him of destroying the State, and for atrractung development to his hometown of Owa-Alero in Ika North East. Perhaps, Omo-Agege should tell Nigerians of any Governor he knows in Nigeria, past or present, that did not attract one form of development or the other to his hometown or community!
“Okowa’s achievements are not hidden, they are glaring and verifiable. Majority of Okowa’s achievements are tangible, you can see and feel them. The roads are what you can see and the tyres of our vehicles can testify to it. The upgraded Asaba International Airport is there, the smooth landing and staff off of Aircraft tyres can testify. The radars, ILS equipment and other sophisticated Avionics arrests to the good works of this administration.
“The FIFA Accredited Stephen Keshi International Stadium is there for every Nigerian to see and the yet to be commissioned gigantic State Secretariat built and equipped to accommodate all Ministries, Departments and Agencies of government is visible, physically located at Marian Babangida Way, Asaba, and many more achievements of this administration.
“If all of these huge infrastructure developments in Delta State is what DSP Omo-Agege referred to as Okowa’s offence, I am pretty sure he would also be gullible to say that Governor Weysom Wike of Rivers State and Gov Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, destroyed their States via huge infrastructure development. How else can one explain the purport of DSP Agege’s mischievous statements!
“One thing is sure, Deltans will not vote for people like DSP Agege, with past criminal records in the United States, coupled with his negative antecedents in the red chambers, even though he was wrongly compensated by the APC national government.
“The only federal project of APC national government in Delta State, the Federal Polytechnic, is located in Agege’s hometown of Orogun through his self centered mentality. He is presently lobbying for the Law School meant for Delta State, to be located in Orogun town. His Chief of Staff is from Orogun, the Chairman elect of Delta APC, Chief Sobotie is from Delta Central, and he had the audacity to say that Okowa attracted development to his town of Owa-Alero. What manner of man is Ovie-Agege?
“Come 2023, DSP Agege will be history in Delta politics. Not only that he will be thrown out of Senate, Deltans will disgrace him at the polls,” Oghenesivbe assured.
Okowa is a failure. He has nothing to offer
