Coalition for Media Politics, CMP, has described the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and Grand Commander Of Nigeria, GCON, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, as a genuine friend of Delta and a detribalised leader.
The group in a statement by its Chairman/Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on Communications, Chief Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe Esq, JP., said the Vice President has demonstrated immeasurable love for the state and the incumbent Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, as he visits for the third consecutive time since the inception of this administration.
VP Osinbajo, is expected to arrive Asaba International Airport at 1pm and will proceed to pay a courtesy visit on the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Obi (Prof) Chike Edozien at his palace.
The Vice President will thereafter proceed to commission the multi billion Naira 8.5 Mega Watts Independent Power Project, IPP Asaba, and also commission the ultra modern masterclass HRM Chike Edozien State Secretariat Complex along Marian Babaginda Way. Both star projects were constructed and equipped by Okowa administration.
The group urged Deltans to troop out in large numbers to welcome VP Osinbajo as he arrives Asaba on Monday 29th November, saying that he truly deserves the best of Delta hospitality and care while in the state to perform these all important official assignments.
“CMP members in the three senatorial districts welcome our amiable and indefatigable Vice President, prof Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, to the nation’s Big Heart, as he arrive the state capital on Monday, to commission two star projects in Asaba; the 8.5 mega watts IPP and HRM Obi Chike Edozien State Mega Secretariat.
“We note with nostalgia the inestimable love VP Osinbajo have for Delta State, and it is only fair for all Deltans to come out in large numbers to express our unquantifiable love and esteemed respect that he truly deserves.
“CMP congratulates governor Okowa and Deltans for the completion of these remarkable and enviable high profile projects which were executed within estimated time frame.
“It is becoming glaring by the day that governor Okowa, came on board in 2015, with a clear vision and mission to develop and transform the three senatorial districts as encapsulated in his SMART and Stronger Delta Agendas.
“Our governor’s visionary leadership has placed Delta in the limelight as a fast growing economy among progressive States in Nigeria, and Sub-Sahara Africa.
“We humbly and respectfully join majority of Deltans in urging governor Okowa, to kindly give us a successor that will build on his sparkling legacies; a people friendly, honest, prudent manager of resources, a bridge builder and above all, a God fearing and deep rooted Christian,” CMP said.
