Delta State Commissioner for Information, Hon Charles Ehiedu Aniagwu, fnipr, in his capacity as the State Head of Information and Media team, will play host to other top government functionaries at the official inauguration ceremony of Executive Committee Members of the Coalition for Media Politics, CMP.
Aniagwu who received in audience, CMP Chairman and Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on Communications, Chief Dr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, JP, fcism, in his office on Tuesday 30th November said, the aims and objectives of the group as explained by the Eacgov, is obviously in consonance with the Stronger Delta information dissemination strategies of projecting policies, programmes and achievements of the state governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, and the government.
He commended Oghenesivbe, for his foresight, tenacity, doggedness and commitments in ensuring that the laudable achievements of governor Okowa is further articulated through the instrumentality of strategic political communication, targeted at heterogenous audiences via the traditional and new media.
Aniagwu noted that the synergy between media appointees, social media influencers, media partners and his ministry was and still yielding positive results, pointing out that no state in Nigeria enjoys the kind of far reaching coverage of state activities like Delta State.
He disclosed that the state governor is very much committed to sustaining and enhancing the mutual work relationships between the media and government, saying that the quarterly media briefing is one of the deliberate efforts of governor Okowa to appreciate members of the fourth estate of the realm and to regularly fraternize with media partners in the state.
“I wish to commend you and members of CMP for a job well done, so far, and I want to see more of your synergy with my ministry and other media appointees of the governor.
“There is strength in unity of purpose and I am willing and ready to provide necessary assistance that will improve the dissemination of facts concerning the achievements of this administration. Constructive criticism is very much welcomed by the governor and this administration.
“On the other hand, lies, misinformation, negative propaganda and hate speech will not be tolerated from the opposition and detractors. I am very much aware that CMP and the Eacgov are reliable in terms of balancing the equation in this regard.
“To that extent my Ministry will make available detailed information about the governor’s achievements, and I have directed q the SSA Media, Hon Nelson Egware, to liaise with the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Information to supply 50 copies of VERACITY Magazines and other vital materials to CMP, so as to enable your members extract contents and images for media engagements on social and traditional media platforms.
