Time To Reflect On My Five Years In Okowa’s Administration, Take Critical Decisions – Eacgov Oghenesivbe

Executive Assistant to Delta State Governor on Communications, Chief Barr Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, JP, has said that the just concluded third edition of Delta State Strategic Communication Workshop, Delcom 2021, was a huge success.

He made the assertion in a statement made available to newsmen in Asaba on Thursday 23rd December, saying that the days of divide and rule system, partial promotion of appointees, tribal favouritism and glaring nepotism were over and can no longer be tolerated.

Oghenesivbe said Delcom 2021 was a huge success, and that participants were trained on various aspects of strategic communication in Democratic politics, and how to craft political news contents, separate from conventional news 2-D style.

He disclosed that participants were trained on how to efficiently and effectively deflate negative propaganda targeted at the government of Delta State and the Governor by opposition parties and detractors; and various news platforms that can be used to project government programmes and achievements.

Oghenesivbe, a lawyer and member of the International Communication Association, ICA, said he would be spending the Christmas and new year holidays reflecting on his five years in Okowa administration, saying that the days of eating crumbs from the master’s table were over in his career as a renowned political communication strategist, which may require taking critical decisions in the early part of 2022, if his demands were not met by government.

“Delcom 2023 was a huge success. My vision is to raise top class political communication strategists, not traditional or conventional news reporters.

“In developed democracies, political communication has become a powerful tool in democratic politics because of the inherent high degree of political contents, far lucrative for practitioners than top editorial jobs.

“Core political actors knows the positive effects and penetration of strategic political communication but some naive politicians in developing democracies are yet to know the gains of SPC, except for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“By April 2022, I would have served five years in Okowa administration, and It is time for me to ask myself some basic questions and also provide the answers.

“I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt that its time for me to take critical decisions that would take my career to the next level.

“The urgent need to jettison crumbs that falls from the master’s table is now and it will happen in the first quarter of 2022,” Oghenesivbe disclosed.
