Yuletide: Ogbimi Splashes Christmas Largesse On Isoko Women

The member representing Isoko North constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Jude Ogbimi has again stressed the need for sound policies and programs that would promote socio-economic development in the state.

Hon Ogbimi who stated this at Otor-Igho in Owhe clan, Isoko North local Government area of the state, at a ceremony organized for a group of market women across the 13 PDP wards in Isoko North, identified women empowerment as key area towards attaining accelerated growth in the society.

The Isoko North representative, who is the Chairman, Assembly Committee on Housing, Women Affairs and Community Development, said he had been an advocate of youth and women empowerment even before he joined politics.

Hon Ogbimi explained that women have lots of potentials in growing the economy, emphasizing the need to always take the well-being and welfare of the women seriously.

He described women as strength of politics and democratic governance, stressing that without women in the society, life will be meaningless.

While promising to sustain his deliberate efforts in raising standards amongst women and youths in the society, the Lawmaker stated that the gift items, including bags of Rice and cash was not just in keeping with the spirit of the Yuletide, but in fulfillment of one of his electioneering promises to always reach out to constituents.

Ogbimi charged the one hundred and eighty women that received the gift items to remain good ambassadors of the constituency, saying that their prayers and support for him and all party leaders in the state including, Hon Leo Ogor were needed at all times.

The Lawmaker lauded Dr Ifeanyi OKOWA for the several youth and women empowerment programs of his administration since he assumed office as Governor, maintaining that his well thought out policies have brought great economic transformation across the state.

“ Our Governor, H.E. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has done well in all ramifications, including empowering women. We will continue to support his drive for a better Delta State. I want to assured that I will continue to push the women of Isoko North forward economically because you are very supportive, strong in mobilization and prayerful. This Christmas gesture is just the beginning of various empowerment programs as more will be rolled out in the future cutting across all women in Isoko North”.

“You came out enmass to support PDP and voted it candidate to victory during the polls. I so much appreciate you for doing that, even as I urged each and every one of you to remain focused and committed to the goals and aspirations of the the Okowa’s led PDP government”, Ogbimi stated.

The Chairman of Isoko North council, Deacon Christian Iterire commended Hon Ogbimi for keeping to his electioneering promises and charged him never to relent in that regards.

Represented by the Vice Chairman, Mr Frank Ozue, Deacon Iterire said the Lawmaker has done well to putting smiles on the faces of the women in appreciation of their continued support.

He noted that the women will for a very long time appreciate the gesture and appeal for more empowerments to others women groups in the local government area.

Chairperson of the Market Women Association Isoko North Chapter, Mrs Ejobeke Roseline commended Hon Ogbimi for the gifts items, saying that it was the first time the particular group of market women were experiencing such kindness from a member of the State Assembly.

While promising continue support and prayers for him, the state government and all other stakeholders, the leader of the group enjoined the Isoko North representative to sustain his quality representation of the people.

“Our prayers for Hon Ogbimi is that he will continue to move forward in any area he desires politically. We assure him of more support from market women”, she emphasized.

The ceremony was attended by several party leaders in Isoko North.
