Accord Party, Delta State has felicitated with the people of the state and christians in particular on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Jesus Christ.
The party in a statement by its chairman, Mr. Fred Obi said as the glamour of the yuletide season buzzes across the state, “we are consciously reminded of the compelling need to demonstrate love by sharing goodwill with one another which is the main reason for the season, while propelling measures to making our dear state distinctively great among comity of states in Nigeria.”
As a united and determined people working assiduously towards a common goal – “the progress of Delta State,” we must, as a matter of utmost responsibility shun all forms of hostility, pressure and abuse which does not in any way protray the purpose of the birth of our saviour Jesus Christ.
He said we must not relent in our collective will to actuate good governance in the state and catalyse unprecedented socioeconomic growth and prosperity for all.
Just as great nations the world over were built at the expense of patriotism, unrivalled commitment, good governance and peaceful coexistence; “we must commit ourselves to the dictates of progress, imbibe the spirit of patriotism and upscale our civic responsibilities towards making our state a conducive place of abode.
“Interestingly, the clamour for a new and progressive Delta state is waltzing strong across the nooks and crannies of the state and beckoning at us to support the vision of good governance being propagated by our Great Accord Party with incomparable passion and pertinacity.
In the same vein, the political beats of this memorable season strikingly beckon at us to demonstrate resoluteness and key into the awesome vision of our great Accord Party which has begun a rebooting of the political activities in Delta state to prepare grounds for maximum welfare, freedom and happiness for all Deltans on the basis of social justice, equality of status and opportunity in the coming political dispensation.
“As we savour the celebratory mood of the yuletide amongst us, we must eschew violence, bigotry and gerrymandering, and commit to promoting peaceful coexistence among the diverse religious groups in the State. Only through such manner we can build a virile and progressive State for all. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year ahead!”
