The Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs Rose Ezewu said secondary schools in Delta State will resume on Monday for the second term in the 2021/2022 academic session.
Mrs Ezewu disclosed that, academic activities will begin immediately and as such all students should endeavour to be in school on Monday, as the term will begin as usual with test.
She urged parents and guardians to ensure their children and wards resume school on Monday noting that education is the best legacy anyone can bequeath to their children.
The Commissioner for Secondary Education urged School heads to ensure the schools are conducive for learning and teachers are on ground to carry out their duties.
Mrs Ezewu disclosed that the Ministry’s Monitoring Team will be on ground to ensure strict compliance and anyone found wanting will be sanctioned.
On the standard of education in the State, Mrs Ezewu said under the watch of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa the standard of education has risen to an enviable height in the country.
She explained that, Governor Okowa has renovated schools, constructed new ones and provided furniture to meet the increasing demand of secondary education in the state.
The Commissioner for Secondary Education added that Delta State Secondary Schools curriculum has been tailored to include Computer Studies, Farming, Fishery, Hair Dressing, Catering among others to meet modern realities of self reliance.
She called on parents and wards to complement government efforts by ensuring their children make effective use of their secondary education.
