Against the backdrop of recent online publications that claimed a rift between Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and former, Governor James Ibori of Delta State, Prince Obaro Unuafe has dispelled such claims, saying there is a strong synergy more than ever between the two leaders.
According to Obaro, if there is any rifts as claimed by the faceless writers, “As SSA to Governor on Communication and Orientation, I should be one of those who would have gotten an inkling of such rifts. I think they are merely insinuating. I believe they are scandalous and its a figment of their imaginations.”
Speaking during an interview with journalists in his office at Asaba, the Delta state capital, Obaro insisted that PDP is a one united big family in the 25 local government areas of the state that peculate down to the various units and wards and fully in control.
He said as at this minutes there is no rifts or iota of rifts as claimed by the writers arguing that it was a figment of the imaginations of some blackmailers , paid writers, hungry authors who goes about without a base, maintaining that PDP is intact.
“Chief Onanefe Ibori and our active governor Ifeanyi Okowa have kept the family together without any crack either in the wall or in the body polity of PDP. Two of them are cordially relating well and there is nothing like a rifts talk less of fighting dirty.
“The only challenge we have are people who are not well informed about the mechanism of how PDP work. The mechanism of PDP is unknown to the faceless opposition, because if they know how PDP work they would not be vomiting those garrulous statements.”
According to him, “There is no iota of truth in the claims that the two leaders are fighting dirty. Infact, there is strong synergy between the two and you will see that on Saturday where PDP will be having a ground rally. You will see the big family together.”
The SSA pointed out that, “Unknown to the faceless authors, PDP has internal mechanism to resolved any issues with massive projects on ground to show while the APC is busy sleeping.”
He described the APC as a house of commotion that is inhabited with strange bed fellows noting that PDP is a family that has been existing since 1999 unlike the APC who came from the middle with different cleavages as some are labeled foreigners, while some are owners others are fighters.
“I give kudos to the leaders and founders of PDP. They foresaw the future that is why the party is growing by the day. So what are we talking about? The nibbolous claim of rifts between the two leaders should be dispelled with a pinch of salt.” He insisted.
On how PDP in the state is handling the transition arrangements ahead of the 2023 general elections, the SSA on Communication and Orientation said; “I think power is ordained by God and governor Okowa reiterated that during his family thanks giving. He did said that power belong to God and he has no power to anoint any successor. PDP believed in the popular will of the people through democratic mechanism as embeded in its tradition. It will be made manifest during the party primaries.”
