The League of Professionals, a social cultural and political group, has decried the social economic declined, insecurity and high inflation that are prevalent in the country, calling on Nigerians to get ready to vote out the APC led federal government in 2023 general elections.
The Convener, the League of Professional, Prince Obaro Unuafe, who spoke vehemently against the numerous challenges confronting the nation, when the group was hosted by, Prince Paul Owumi, the Director of Protocol to former Governor James Ibori of Delta state, noted that the APC led federal government has buchanised the country which requires urgent remedy from well meaning Nigerians.
“I believe Nigerians have slept for too long. In politics everyone is a stakeholder. In 1999, many Nigerians due to the fear of the military, declined to be in politics paving the way for miscreants and political bandits to take over the body politics.
“In 2019, we decided to come together to form a group; Media Think Tanks, to ensure governor Okowa re-election, the group later metamorphosed into League of Professionals for strategic advocacy, to ensure that everyone is on board. Our goal is to ensure that PDP retain in Delta state and win the presidency come 2023.”
He decried the borrowing culture of the APC government and bad governance that has escalated ritual killings, insecurity and unprecedented inflation in the country, adding that 2023 general elections will be a turning point in Nigeria.
Earlier, the Chairman of the League of Professionals, Pius Mordi noted that the League of Professionals is made up of members of different professionals with a common goal of working for the peace and development of Delta state.
He said the event was an interactive forum put together for both old and new members especially as the 2023 general elections draw closer.
On his part, the Host, Prince Paul Owumi, the Director of Protocol, to former Governor James Ibori of Delta, expressed satisfaction for the maturity of the group.
According to him; “I am not here for politics. It is time to know ourselves. I urge you not to relent as a every closed doors will be open henceforth.”
