The State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party today, received in audience, Executives of the South South PDP Youth leaders Summit group in the Conference Room of the State Office of the PDP along Isaac Boro Expressway, Okaka, Yenagoa.
Speaking on behalf of the State Chairman of the Party, Hon. Solomon Agwana (JP), State Secretary of PDP, Hon. Gesiye Isowo, thanked the PDP South south Youth delegation for the visit. He commended them for the decision to convoke a Zonal Youth summit to be held in Delta State; where the necessary awareness would be created to begin the journey to wrest power from the APC led Federal Government.
The State Secretary advised that there is however, need for a time table to be drawn for the Youth summit to be organised in each of the six states that make up the South south zone. He pledged the support of the PDP State Exco towards the success of the laudable programme.
Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of the South South PDP Youth leaders Summit Comr. Uyero Erarawewho Jnr, who is also the Special Assistant Political to the Governor of Delta State, first appreciated His Excellency Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa for approving the Zonal Youth Leader Barr. Lloyd Owonaro request in hosting the event in Delta State and said they were in the State PDP Secretariat to intimate the leadership of the Party of the forthcoming Zonal Youth Summit slated for the 4th of March 2022, in Delta State, and solicited for the support of the State PDP and Governor of Bayelsa State in the area of Finance and Youth mobilisation to the venue of the meeting. He also informed the Party leadership of an interactive programme with youths on radio (Peoples Radio 93.1 FM) scheduled for the day. He said the programme will no doubt, help to sensitize the youth to take affirmative roles towards rescuing Nigeria from the bad governance of the present administration in the country lead by the APC.
Also speaking at the event, Hon.Nunieh Odede, State Youth Leader of PDP and member of the central Committee of the South-South PDP Youth Leaders Summit pointed out eloquently of the pivotal role youths play in the determination of election outcomes in Nigeria and commended the State PDP for the assistance he has received so far in sponsorship of youth programmes.
