“Preye Ketebu-Brown is a partisan politician who started as an Assistant Secretary of the Non-Rivers in PDP “NORIP” (Rivers State) in 1998 till 2003. His doggedness alongside others of like minds formed the organization (NORIP) to mobilize non-indigenes into the PDP and at that time, it worked very well. He didn’t stop there, because of his long term commitment to youth development he became President, Anglican Youth Fellowship, St. Stephen Church, Odi and at State level as State Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (Bayelsa State Chapter); at the National level as National Monitoring Coordinator of 2nd & 3rd editions of the National Youth Festival of Arts and Culture (NAYOUFEST 2001-2), so you see, this is no lazy youth”.
He went on to say Ketebu-Brown rose through ranks and later got elected as Vice President of the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) at the 16th General Assembly of WAY in Tirana, Albania,2014. As a nationalist whose ideology is geered towards national peace; youth development policy initiation, planning monitoring and implementation, he led a National Youth Peace Orientation Tour to the former Sultan of Sokoto H.E. Muhammadu Maccido CFR to douse ethno-religious tension brewing in Northern Nigeria in 2003.
Uyero noted that in 2007 he facilitated a peace parley between Niger-Delta Militants and a Federal Government Presidential delegation led by the Honorable Minister of Youth Development Dr. Mrs. Salome Jankada in his home Town of Odi which formed the policy foundation for the current Presidential Amnesty initiative responsible for restoration of peace and revival of the Oil industry alongside the rehabilitation, trainings, re-integration and empowerment of over thirty thousand Niger-Delta youths (Ex-Agitators) in the Niger-Delta Region of Nigeria.
“I see Preye as a team player who carries everyone along. He is selfless and committed to the welfare of people as he has helped hundreds of farmers get agro- allied farmer’s empowerment. As Vice President of WAY, he is currently working hard to rejuvenate democratic youth-led leadership in National Youth umbrellas across Africa towards the goal of good youth governance which will in turn breed African leaders with desirable leadership skills. He is also working to get the World Assembly of Youth (WAY) accredited with full diplomatic privileges in Nigeria by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and organizing programs to bring development in Nigeria” he affirmed.
“He is currently writing a book titled: “Good Youth Governance. We should be prepared and ready to learn something new from this dogged Youth with a difference” he added.
