Insecurity: Delta CP Seeks Stakeholders Partnership To Curb Anti- Social Vices *****Receives Anti-cult Volunteer Corps

The Delta State Commissioner of Police Mr. Ari Mohammed Ali has described cultism as mother of all crimes in the society, just as he called for synergy with relevant stakeholders to curb the menace.

The CP made the call when the new executive of the state anti-cult volunteer Corp paid him a courtesy visit in his office, Asaba, the state capital.

Addressing them in his office, the state Commissioner of police Mr. Ari called on partnership with members of the public to complement police and other security agency’s efforts in battling insecurity.

“And for us to nip all the problems in the board, we as police officers cannot do it alone that is why we need all of you to join us to nip crime in the board to a large extent so that we enjoy peaceful atmosphere where investors can happily come in.

The CP who observed that the state is being confronted with crime related activities such as cultism, kidnapping, ritual killings, land grabbing among others, reiterated the importance of community policing which he said would help in contailing these myrad of insecurity challenges bedeviling the socio-economic activities of Nigerians.

“You will agree with me that. if you take an x-ray of the six geographical zones of Nigeria today, all the regions today at grabbing with one security challenges or the others. No region is free from any security threats and every region has his own peculiar insecurities.

Mr. Ari who further expressed worries over the increasing rate of insecurity across the country, assured the volunteer Corps of adequate partnership to ensuring cult related activities are stampout of the state.

“let me reassure you that Delta State Police Command under my watch by the grace of God, and partnership with all other agencies including your very self, we will ensure this state enjoy it’s investors destination even as has be adjudged as one of the most peaceful states in this country.

President of the state anti-cult volunteer corps Mr. Uche Eboma who said they were on familiarization visit on the CP, seeks the command’s assistant to help profile their members with biometric verification numbers across the state in order to weed out impersonators.

“Since the demise of our former President and Founder of the Corps in the state Mr. Austyne Emuamaka who was murdered in cold blood at Kwale 2020, there was not leadership lacuna before we able to conduct another election to keep the association going. Anti-cult volunteer corps Delta has come to stay and no enemy of peace and progress can stop.

We know that we can’t achieve this alone, hence the synergy with the Delta State Police Command is Paramount.

We need to profile our members, conduct biometric verification exercise on them to rebrand the corps”

“Anti-cult is a movement formed to lobby public officials and to expose the activities of criminals and entrench peace and development in the society.

A minute silence was observed for the former President and Founder of the Corps in the state Mr. Austyne Emuamaka who
was grusomly murdered at Kwale on DeĀ­cember 5, 2020.
