Focused on realization of the administration goals and sustainability of government plans, the Ndokwa West LGA, has presented a budget estimate of N9,027,091,568.54 for 2022 fiscal year.
Presenting the budget to the Legislative Arm of the Council, the Chairman, Chief Goddey Obi-Nzete noted that the total recurrent and total capital expenditure stood at N4,487,691,568.54 and N4,539,400,000.00 respectively.
He maintained that the 2022 draft estimate is a balance budget since there is ‘no surplus no deficit’ and with no room for loan taking.
“Comparatively, our analysis increased the 2022 draft estimate by 25 percent, resultant from the increase in oil price and autonomy given to local government since 1st June, 2019.”
Continuing; “In realistic terms, we shall practically be focusing on landmark projects, agricultural extension, improving on revenue generation and ensuring consolidation.”
In a remark, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Ndubuisi Okoloafor commended the chairman for the timely presentation of the budget just as he assured that the House will expeditiously pass the budget to enable the chairman commence the implementation of his programmes and policies for the 2022 fiscal year.
