Sequel to the report of oil spillage at Amuokpokpor- Elume and other communities in Sapele Local Government Area, the Delta State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Prince Emmanuel Amgbaduba paid a visit to the site of the oil spill at Elume main town.
The commissioner visited the site in company of the local government Chairman, Hon. Eugene Inoaghan and his vice chairman, Hon. Vincent Ayomanor.
Amgbaduba expressed amazement at the devastating effect of the spill on the community and how it had affected their fishing activities which is the main source of living.
He promised to take up the issue with the state government with a view of reaching the oil company operating in the region to take necessary action.
Amgbaduba also gave relief package to residents in the community to ameliorate their condition.
Earlier, the commissioner paid a courtesy call to the Sapele Local Government Council Chairman, Hon Eugene Inoaghan at his office in Sapele Local Government Council Secretariat.
