The Permanent Secretary, Post Primary Education Board (PPEB) , Mr. Augustine Chukwuma has assured applicants for teaching job of the state government’s commitment towards ensuring transparency in the conduct the 2022 recruitment interview.
Chukwuma, who gave the assurance in Asaba while monitoring the conduct of the ongoing CBT teachers recruitment exercise, said that the application of CBT for the interview would improve educational system in the state.
He said that the purpose of using CBT for the test was aimed at reducing complaints and ensure more efficiency in the process since everything was online.
Chukwuma, who recalled that CBT was first applied in 2019 in the employment of teachers which according him had remained credible, said that apart from the written examination applicants that would be eventually shortlisted would take both oral and micro interviews.
He said that the CBT test was being conducted in eight designated centres including the Delta State Library ICT , Asaba, two centres in the Delta State Polytechnic, Ogwuashi-Uku ,three centres in the Delta State University, Abraka and two centres in the College of Education, Warri .
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu in continuation of the monitoring of the exercise had visited three centres in the Delta State University, Abraka to access the compliance of the applicants to the written examination.
Speaking during the monitoring visits, Ezewu lauded the State Governor, Senator (Dr.) Ifeanyi Okowa for his administration’s priority attention to the education sector.
Ezewu said that the state government was determined to addressing the the deficiency of teachers in the state, adding that the success of the applicants would be based on their performance and merits in both written, oral and micro interviews
