The League of Professionals for Strategic Advocacy, a socio-cultural and political group, has condemned in strong terms the attacked on the entourage of a House of Representatives aspirant for Isoko federal constituency, Chief Bashorun Askia Ogieh.
Ogieh, a former Managing Director, Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission DESOPADEC, was attacked by alleged political thugs earlier in the week during his campaign visit to Otor-Igho community, Isoko South LGA.
Although, no life was lost but two mobile police officers attached to the entourage were severally wounded while some vehicles were destroyed during that attack believed to have been sponsored by unpatriotic elements in Isoko land.
Condemning the attacked in a press statement made available to journalists in Asaba, Prince Obaro Unuafe, the convener, League of Professional for Strategic Advocacy, described the attack as unwarranted and unacceptable.
He noted that such an attack was alien to Isoko politics and was capable of fueling disaffection among the people of Isoko South and Isoko North LGAs regarded as brothers and sisters.
He called on Isoko leader’s of thoughts, political, religious, community leaders and traditional rulers to condemn the attack even as he tasked the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators so they can face the full wrought of the law.
