The FCT and Federal High Courts, sitting in Abuja respectively, today, 16th of June, 2022 dismissed four Suits challenging the Candidacy of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori. In the said suits wherein A.T. Kehinde SAN, Ekeme Ohwovoriole SAN and Ayo Asala SAN appeared for Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Oborevwori, the Courts dismissed the Suits amongst others, on the ground of locus standi and lacking merits.
The FCT and FHC dismissed the suits against the Speaker on the issue of his eligibility to contest for Governorship election in Delta State. Cost of #1.6 Million Naira were awarded against those who went to Court to challenge Oborevwori elegibility.
The suits are:
1. Suit no FHC/ABJ/CS/671/2022 Btw: Hon. Chief Anthony Egbune & Anor. V PDP & Ors.
2. Suit no FHC/ABJ/CS/656/2022 Btw: Hon. Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie & 204 Ors. V PDP & Another
3. FHC/ABJ/CS/672/2022 Btw: Moses Ogbe & Another V Sheriff Francis Oborevwori & Ors.
4. FCT/HC/CV/1727/2022 Btw: Uche Kelly Egwunatum & Another V Oborevwori Francis Orohwedor & Anor.
Though, Sheriff Oborevwori is not unaware of other sinister moves to disqualify him through the backyard, but his legal team is equal to the task. Deltans should come together and stand with Chief Sheriff Francis Oborevwori for MORE prosperous Delta State.
