In their focus on always giving back to their Alma Mater, the Ndemili Grammar School Old Students Association, NGOSA, has paid off the fees of all the SS3 students taking the West African Examination Council (WAEC) examination coming up in 2024.
The gesture, according to NGOSA National President, Barr. (Mrs) Margaret Osogbue was one of the promises made to the students during the golden jubilee celebration of the school in September 2023. She encouraged the students taking the examination to work hard and reward the school with good results.
The president in a press statement, explained further that “the gesture is also meant to boost the morale of the students towards excellence in their academic pursuit, noting that N490,000 was released for the registration of the students.
She urged the students of the school to dedicate their time and energy to reading hard and engaging in school activities as that is the only way to achieve their dreams of a great and bright future.
While expressing gratitude to God for a successful Golden Jubilee celebration, the President thanked all those who donated to its fundraising during the celebration, as the present gesture is made possible by their generosity. She promised on behalf of NGOSA that the exercise will be a continuous one.
She said the association will not just stop at paying Exam Fee, but is planning to engage seasoned Teachers to take the SS3 students in extra lessons to prepare them to pass the external Exam.
The President stated that NGOSA will reward students who pass WAEC and JAMB but cannot afford university education, with scholarships to study any course of their choice in the University.
