The Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, yesterday announced the appointment of Mr. Nkem Nwaeke as his Chief Press Secretary.
Guwor who announced this during Tuesday’s Plenary, noted that Nwaeke’s appointment, takes immediate effect.
Speaking further on the appointment during a thank you visit by Assembly correspondents in his office, the Speaker stressed that Nwaeke’s appointment came after a careful consideration just as he described Nwaeke as a media guru who knows his onions.
“You will recall that I took time in coming up with this decision. The reason for the delay is to avoid making mistakes. Mr. Nkem Nwaeke is indeed a committed, dedicated and hard working journalist.
“I have known Nkem Nwaeke for quite a long time and I have no doubt that he will discharge his new role creditably” Guwor said.
Nwaeke, untill his appointment, was the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Warri correspondent in the State House of Assembly for a period spanning about two decades
Nwaeke, an Assistant-General Manager with the DBS Warri, and former secretary, Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) DBS,
Warri chapel, currently holds Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Mass communication from the Delta State University, Abraka.
