Mother of Delta Majority Whip Laid To Rest In Ozoro, Oborevwori, Onyeme, Guwor, Ukodiko, Ogor, Others Pay Tributes.

Remains of late Mrs Catherine Onojigho Odior, Mother of the Majority Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Bernard Odior, has been laid to rest at Alaka quarters, Ozoro, Isoko North Local Government Area.

The burial ceremony drew an array of personalities across the country, including the Delta State Governor, Rt Hon (Elder) Sheriff Oberevwori, the State Deputy Governor, Sir Monday Oyeme, Speaker State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Emomotimi Guwor, legislators at both National and State Assembly and their wives, Civil Commissioners, other top government officials, Captains of industries, traditional, religious and opinion leaders, groups and political associates, amongst others.

Speaking on the topic ” It Is Appointed unto man to die” the Officiating Minister, and District Superintendent of the Christ Apostolic Church of God, Victory District Ozoro, Pastor Tennson Erimu said death was a debt awaiting everybody.

In his text from the book of Hebrews 9:27, and 1st Thessalonians 4:3-18, Pastor Erimu stated that the journey of life is a gift from God Almighty where the final destination depended on how it was spent.

He explained that it is appointed unto men to die once, after which he would face judgement of God’ adding that God will judge every one according to their works.

Pastor Erimu said everyone should constantly live with the consciousness that “we all are sojourners on earth” as legacies left behind would speak after death.

The Clergy who described late Catherine Odio as a dedicated Christian, enjoined her children to do same and be dedicated to the service of God and humanity.

Children of the late Catherine Odio, including the Majority Whip of the State Assembly, Hon Bernard Odior who represents Isoko North Constituency in the House, eulogized the many legacies of their mother.

They described their late mother as a woman of virtue who loved and served God in her lifetime.

Hon Odior particularly commended Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, his Deputy, the Speaker and others for the show of love, stressing that their presence was greatly appreciated.

Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Emomotimi Guwor, who spoke in an interview, admonished the children of late Mrs Catherine Odior to imbibe the virtues of their late mother so as to impact the society positively.

Guwor said late Catherine Odior was a lover of children and community leader with high moral values, and prayed God to grant her eternal rest.

At the grave side in her country home, prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of Mama Catherine Onojigho Odior by the officiating ministers.

Late Mrs Catherine Onojigho Odio, aged 95 was until her death a member of Christ Apostolic Church, and is survived by five children, thirty seven grand children and fifteen great grand children.
