First Year Anniversary: Integrity Group Scores Oborevwori High On Infrastructure, Others
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has been rated high on his achievements in welfare and infrastructural development among other sectors within his first year in office as governor.
In a statement entitled ‘Governor Sheriff Oborevwori One Year of Impactful Leadership’ and made available to our correspondent, the Integrity Group of Delta state, MORE agenda and You Matter Charity Foundation ambassadors, noted that the last 365 days have witnessed people-oriented governance led by Elder Sheriff Oborevwori.
Endorsed by its Convener, Dr. Oke Idawene and Hon. Barth Ozah, Director of Media and Communication, the statement noted that the group had assigned itself the responsibility of promoting the MORE agenda of the administration of governor Sheriff Oborowheri and You Matter Charity Foundation, a pet project of the first lady, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori.
According to the statement, the success of the administration with the MORE agenda, started with the award of road project to Julius Berger construction company and other infrastructures, having completed about 70 road projects, some of which he  inherited from previous admissions.
“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has delivered impressively on sustainable development. Some of the roads are already completed, while work is ongoing at different stages of completion in others.
“Just one year after Governor Oborevwori assumed office in Delta, you can all see that things have begun to change for the better, and it will continue to get better and better after he does the first term of four years and another term of four years.
“So, it’s a thing of joy that we’re celebrating his first year in office today. Deltans elected him into office and I urge them to continue to support him, all of us will continue to support him and pray for him so that he will deliver on his promise to the people of Delta State.”
The governor has begun from the foundation to build education in the state by employing over 2500 teaching and non-teaching staff, aimed at improving quality of learning as well as enhanced opportunity for the young graduates in the state to gainfully employed.
He equally approved payment of N40 billion to defray backlog of pensions owed retired primary school teachers and local government employees in the state which was aimed at assisting the 25 local government councils in the state defray a substantial part of Accrued Rights of Local Government Pensioners.
In a similar gesture, the governor released N5.522bn promotion arrears for civil servants, a testament to the Governor’s unwavering dedication to the growth and productivity of the Public Service in the state.
He equally approved the payment of over N674,000,000 as bursary to no fewer than 30,000 students of Delta state origin in higher institutions across the country for the 2022/2023 academic session.
“Approval of palliative payment of N10,000 to each of the 50,196 civil servants in Delta State including the 10 tertiary institutions for three (3) months.”
Integrity Group described the governor’s vision for agriculture, health, education  as unprecedented even as they acknowledged sustainable peace as one of the major achievements of the previous administration of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, inherited by Oborevwori’s administration.
“The peace is further complemented by the governor’s support to security agencies to help nip crime in the bud.

So we have every confidence in him because he has shown capacity in the last one year in office. He is a man of his word. He will do more than he has done already. let’s continue to pray for him, for strength, and good health, to continue in his work.”
