The Integrity Group of Delta state, the MORE agenda and You Matter Charity Foundation ambassadors has said the governor’s numerous achievements in barely one year in office call for celebration and thanksgiving to God almighty for His enablement.
The Convener of Integrity Group, Dr. Oke Idawene stated this in an interview with newsmen shortly after a thanksgiving service in celebration of Governor Sheriff Oborowheri’s one year in office at Divine Prayer and Faith Ministry Ughelli yesterday.
He noted that the celebrations of one year anniversary in office by Oborowheri’s administration in a grand style by the members of the foremost socio-political group, the Integrity Group became imperative to change the public perception of governance in the state that people of like minds can celebrate good governance without government patronage or support.
He said with determination and the interest of the masses at heart, any leader can build a new and prosperous Delta state as exemplified by governor Sheriff Oborevwori, who is one year in office, adding that the administration achievements spanning several sectors of the economy, are quite impactful and visible for all to see.
He listed ongoing reforms in the agricultural sector, infrastructural developments including road rehabilitations and constructions as visible achievements of governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration.
Idawene said; “The significance of celebrating the driving of the people’s first government this one year is in the sense that His Excellency, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has clearly shown that the building and establishment of a new and properly refined state is indeed possible.
He pointed out that out of the 317 road projects on going accross the state, 76 of them, spanning 171.49km and 85.30km length of drains, were initiated by Oborevwori administration in the last one year, adding that his government had turned the entire state to a huge construction site.
“From his education and agricultural reforms, including of a comprehensive activation of various agricultural value chain initiatives and indeed his welfarist programmes as exemplified in payment of pension to retirees, bursary allowances to students and his commitment to worker’s rights and welfares were clear indication of good governance that worth celebrating.”
He called on Deltans and other well-meaning Nigerians to always pray for the success of the Oborevwori-led administration, adding that it is indeed the peoples first government.
Prophet Ernest Ekoh of Divine Prayer and Faith Ministry, Ughelli who ministered on the topic ‘Favour to Advance’ drew inspiration from the founder of Apple products, Steve Jobs who said produced the first phone in 1985 but keep improving every year by producing better version.
“We are supposed to be better version of our parents while our children should be better version than us. But when you fail to advance you become stranded. There are some people their father died 20 years ago yet they lived a better life than their children today, the reason is because you are not improving.”
According to Prophet Ekoh, when your life is not advancing you become stagnated then everything begin to pass you bye, that is the reason I titled my message favour to advance.
He urged the members of the Integrity Group to remain focused in their support for governor Sheriff Oborevwori administration no matter the challenges.
