Proposed Anioma State: NNU Backs Senator Nwoko
       The Ndokwa Neku Union (NNU), has thrown it weights behind the bill for the creation of Anioma state, expressing support for the inclusion of Ndokwa, Oshimili, and Ika in the proposed state.
     Chief Iduh Kingsley, chairman NNU Abuja branch, who disclosed this when he led a high-powered delegations of Ndokwa sons and daughters to paid a courtesy visit to Senator Ned Munir Nwoko at the national assembly, highlighted the union’s support for the creation of Anioma state and commended Senator Nwoko’s exemplary leadership.
     Iduh used the occasion to draw the attention of the Delta North Senator on several critical issues facing the Ndokwa communities, including the urgent need for the Independent Feeder Power (IFP) project to provide electricity in many communities.
     “Youth empowerment was another critical area of concern, with chief Iduh advocating for skills acquisition, employment opportunities, and support for small-scale businesses and agricultural inputs for rural farmers.
       “He further acknowledged Senator Nwoko’s role in the proposed establishment of the Nigeria Defense Academy (NDA), Kwale campus and called for his intervention in securing adequate funding for the newly established Federal University of Medical Science, Kwale.”
         Chief Iduh equally urged Senator Nwoko to maintain his exemplary leadership and responsiveness to his constituents’ needs, assuring the Senator of the NNU’s continued support always.
         On his part, Senator Nwoko reassured the delegation of his dedication to serving the Ndokwa nation and the broader Delta North Senatorial district.
          He expressed his awareness of the responsibilities entrusted to him and emphasized his commitment to fulfilling them saying; “I know I must perform, I am not in this other than to serve humanity. All the interests in Ndokwa nation are protected. As you can tell, I operate differently and I will continue to be on that lane because it produces results.”
       Recalled that there has been agitation by the people of Anioma made up of Aniocha / Oshimili, Ndokwa and Ika of Delta North senatorial district for the creation of Anioma state since present democratic dispensation.
        For several times, the apex body of Anioma socio-cultural organizations, the Izu-Anioma and other stakeholders like Anioma Traditional Rulers Council made up of all the traditional rulers in the zone have several times paid visits to all successive president and national assembly for the agitation of Anioma state.
        As it were, the agitation for Anioma state has been on-going for more than 20 years, what is new however, is the dimension of Senator Nwoko bill which seek to include the Anioma state in the South East zone of the country against it present zone in the South South.
         Other members of the delegation includes, Rev. Moses Okolo, Mr. Joseph Onyeka Olisa, Rev. (Dr) Hon. Ossai Nicholas Ossai, Engr. Emmanuel Opia, Mr. Cletus Olisemeke, Mr. Chris Emegwali, Mr. Celestine Ochonogo, Mrs. Bibiana Shonibare, Mrs. Joyce Ogbedo, Mrs. Flora Abiwo, Miss Joy Ozuem, Chief Jude Ojogwu (ESQ), and Engr. Godfrey Esumobi.
