Founder Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation Applauds Delta First Lady Over Pet Project

Founder, Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women, a Non-governmental organisation, Lady Chinyere Chukwudi Zimako, has lauded the impact in the last one year of the ‘You Matter Charity Foundation’, a pet project of the wife of the Delta State Governor, Dame Tobore Oborevweri in lifting the lives of the downtrodden in the the state.
Zimako who made the commendation in a press briefing at her office in Asaba, maintained that ‘You Matter Charity Foundation (YMC)’ which marked one year of existence this August has made significant impacts on the lives of children with autism and dyslexia even as she noted that her foundation, Chybee Entrepreneurship Foundation for Women share similar vision with that of the first lady.
According to her, Chybee Foundation is a non-governmental organisation that is fully registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission CAC and also with the Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs, Community and Social Development borne out of the need to empower women and make them realise their full potentials.
“Our vision is to empower one million women across Africa with the tools and the resources that they require to grow their businesses. Since inception, we have empowered a total of 40 women in various businesses. Our maiden event was in October last year where we empowered 10 women. The second was in April this year and 30 women where empowered with Grant of N100,000 each.”
On what inspired her into charity work, Zimako noted that it was the famous quote, from the former United States president, J.F Kennedy who said, “Think of what you can do for your nation and not what your nation can do for you” has motivated her in her quest for women empowerment, noting that her experience in service to humanity has been amazing.
“The first lady has done well through her project which is dedicated to advocating for the right to education for every girl child, fighting against gender-based violence and drug abuse among Delta youths, provide a safe and nurturing environment for homeless kids with a particular focus on girls. My vision is the same thing with that of the first lady, that is why I am commending her on the impacts she has made thus far.”
She, however, called on government at all level to focus more on the empowerment of the girl child and that of the women, adding that women empowerment will enable them to contribute to the development of the society. She equally appealed to women to work hard in whatever endeavours they have chosen noting that her foundation was poised to mentor and guide them towards self reliance.
