Delta@33: Idawene, Others Bags Peace Legend Award

A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party and the Convener, Integrity Group of Delta State, Dr. Oke Idawene has bagged the 13 edition of Peace Legend Award in recognition of his contribution to the development of Delta State.

 

Founder Peace Legend Awards International, Mr Jesse Osero Amiri at the award ceremony in Asaba on Sunday, noted that this year award was in commemoration of Delta at 33 which also is the 13th edition of the Peace Legend Award.

 

He explained that Dr. Idawene among 50 Nigerians, was given an award in recognition of his contribution to the peace and development as well as his commitment to improving the lives of citizens in the state.

 

“As part of effort to celebrate Delta State creation at 33 and to encourage individuals, corporate bodies and organisations who have contributed to the peace and development of the state, Peace Legend Award decided to encourage them by way of award. This is the 13th edition.

 

“The awardees of this grand event were drawn from all walks of life including entertainment, academia, business, banking, media, politics, professional groups and organized labour. The list of awardees does not translate to Who is Who in Delta. The Award category has a defined and definite scope.

 

“To qualify for the award, one must have distinguished self in peace building and demonstrated selflessness in his contribution to the development of the state over a given period.”

 

On his part, the elated Idawene said that the award will spur him to continue to support the needy and most importantly, to continue to promote the MORE agenda of Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration.

 

The Convener of Integrity Group and founder of Idawene Foundation for the less privilege reiterated that he will stop at nothing in service to humanity and support for MORE agenda.

 

“I feel highly elated on this award, the is the award in recent times, I give glory to God for the recognition. I want to also thank the organisers for finding me worthy of the award.” Idawene stated.

 

The high light of the event was the cutting of anniversary cake in commemoration of Delta state at 33.
