Delta @33: Integrity Group Felicitates With Gov. Oborevwori, Deltans

A foremost pressure group, the Integrity Group of Delta State, the MORE agenda and You Matter Charity Foundation ambassadors, has felicitated with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Deltans in general as they celebrate the 33rd anniversary of the creation of Delta State.

The felicitation is contained in a press statement signed by, Dr. Oke Idawene, the Convener of Integrity Group of Delta state and Hon. Barth Ozah, director of media and communications of Integrity Group.

The group noted that Delta state has made remarkable progress in the last 33 years and despite its multi lingual nature, the state has remained united and resilience amid its diverse population.

They expressed gratitude for Delta’s continued existence as a cohesive entity despite various challenges noting the state has made giant strides in all in all fronts.

“Integrity Group is particularly happy with the policies and initiatives of Oborevwori’s administration under his MORE agenda. We want to also pay tribute to the past administrations, founding fathers, and key stakeholders whose collective efforts have propelled Delta State forward since its creation.

“We honor and tributes to our founding fathers for their dedication in establishing a strong foundation for our state. Their sacrifices will always be remembered, we also urged the current and update coming leaders to be selfless and patriotic to be able to bequeath lasting legacies like the our founding fathers.”

Integrity Group equally reiterated its commitment towards continued support for this present administration’s policies and programmes even as it appealed to Deltans and residents of the state to continue to be law abiding and contribute their quotas to the uplifting the state to enviable height.

It could be recalled that former military President, General Ibrahim Babangida created Delta State on 27th August, 1991, having been part of the old Midwestern State (1963-1976) and the defunct Bendel State (1976-1991).

Delta State started with twelve local government areas which were splited further into nineteen local governments on September 27, 1991, and to twenty five LGAs in 1997.
