The Delta State Universal Education Board, Subeb, has taken delivery of ten thousand (10,000) Exercise Note Books donated to it by the Sapele Local Government Council for onward distribution to pupils in public primary schools in the state.
Executive Chairman of the Board, Hon Samuel Mariere said the gesture was in response to Subeb’s appeal for collaboration with critical stakeholders, especially local government councils to provide public primary schools in the state free exercise note books as the schools resumed 2024/2025 academic session.
Receiving the notebooks at the Subeb headquarters in Asaba, Hon Mariere, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the board, Mr Bryan Unini commended Sapele local government council for heeding to the appeal of the board by donating ten thousand copies of the needed exercise note books.
The Subeb Boss particularly lauded the Chairman of the Council, Hon Bright Abeke for the prompt response to the request made when the board visited the local government area on advocacy meeting with critical stakeholders in public primary education in the state.
“Distribution of free note books is to enhance learning in public primary schools across in the state in line with the free primary education policy of the state government.
“Today, we are glad to receive 10,000 copies of 60 leaves exercise books from the Sapele local government council to be distributed to pupils in public primary schools within Sapele local government area.
“This gesture is a direct response to the request by the board for Council Chairmen to support learning endeavours of pupils.
“So we are grateful to the authorities of Sapele local government council for a significant boost to the project with the donation of 10,000 Exercise Notebooks.
“This effort is in line with the MORE agenda of the Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s led administration in the state”, Hon Mariere stated.
The former Lawmaker emphasized that the board is determined to improving teaching and learning conditions in public schools in the state, stressing that the dream is achievable with the collaborative approach of the new management team.
“This donation marks a significant step towards enhancing educational standards in the state, and SUBEB looks forward to continued collaboration with local government councils”, Mariere stressed.
Also speaking at the brief handing over ceremony, the member representing Delta Central in the board, Comrade Onome Akpohere commended the Oborevwori’s led government’s effort towards the development of education in the state.
Akpohere also described as commendable the Governor’s passion towards promoting quality education and elevating educational standard in the state to an enviable height.
The Chairman, Sapele local government council, Hon Bright Abeke, while handing over the 10,000 exercise notebooks to Subeb, said his administration will continue to key into initiatives that would promote excellence in the local government area.
Hon Abeke represented at the event, commended Subeb for the renewed efforts to improve and build standards in public primary education in the state.
